I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001 achieving a bachelor of Social Work, For over 20 years I have worked in various welfare sectors working with foster children in emergency accommodation settings, child protection, family intervention. family and relationship therapy, mental health, and the area of drug and alcohol addiction. Experience in these areas has given me a strong foundation in helping people with various trauma an attachment issues. I come from holistic and non-judgemental, compassionate perspective. My experience has taught me that those who seek help are courageous and are generally trail blazers.
I have worked individually, with couples and family counselling. The age of clients have varied between 7 and up. I have trained in various parenting modalities, attachment, trauma informed practice, relationship counselling, including Gottman and emotion focused therapy. Relationship repair and supporting the recovery of mental health are my specialties.
Sometimes in life we can lose our balance and we may need support to rebalance. The challenged is to reach out for help when you do. My first focused in counselling is to provide a safe and warm environment. The rest of the therapy is to walk with you and provide what I can to empower and support your health and well being.
