My approach is you-centered, which means whilst I would try to gently initiate explorations, you, the client, are always in the driver's seat. Further, my stance on providing trauma-informed care includes acknowledging that some of our pasts can still be a place too hard to revisit, too unbearable to face. I affirm that to do a deep work together does not necessarily need a revisit the gory details of your traumatic past. Still, trauma is a shadow with many faces; people also process differently. So when you'd wish & your safety toolkit is in place, I will be walking with you through every step of opening that can.
My purpose is to walk with individuals navigating life with trauma histories to discover their unified self, achieve clarity of identity, and graceful embrace of all experiences. We may explore the past, optimise the present, envision a future marked by resilient mental flexibility and self-mastery.
One thing that makes my building trust and rapport with clients scary fast, I believe, is the indescribable sense of alliance. Pain, I know pain. My clients would also recognise someone who has lived through trauma. With that, in our safe space, they let me see them, hear them, and edify them. It’s really a sacred and soul-changing process; for me too!
