Hi, I am Kirsi Reinikka, qualified Art Therapist and Social Worker through the Masters programs at the University of Queensland. Art therapy is psychological therapy assisted by the art making process. Art therapy can help with feelings of anxiety, depression, psychological trauma, finding insight, goal setting, relaxation to name a few. I currently provide art therapy for private as well as self- and plan-managed NDIS clients. Just make an enquiry if you need a therapist under the Redress or other schemes. If you have 2-4 people who would like to get together and create their own 2 hour art therapy group, I might be able to help!
I am experienced providing art therapy for adults, young people and children 1-1 basis or through group facilitation. People from culturally diverse backgrounds, people with DV and other trauma backgrounds, people on Autism spectrum or with mental health issues. I mainly use Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches as well as cognitive-behavioural models.
