Jodie is an open-minded, compassionate and inclusive therapist. She understands the courage it takes to seek counselling, to work through life’s difficulties, such as: crisis, significant life transitions, and trauma. Jodie believes that these challenges can be worked through relationally. And she aims to create a space that is safe, and receptive to your needs and pace. Jodie completed her Master’s degree in Counselling at QUT, graduating with distinction. She has extensive experience working in the mental health space in public and private settings over the last 10 years.
Jodie’s primary therapeutic approach is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is considered the gold standard for empirically validated intervention with relationships. She is also trained in : experiential work, solution-focused therapy, family therapy, grief counselling, narrative therapy, group and supervision work.
Jodie gently guides you through steps to understand your interaction cycles, attachment strategies, underlying needs and emotions to create more fulfilling relationships with self and others. EFT is an investment in yourself and your relationship with others. Jodie embraces all relationship structures, LGBTQIA+, cultures, and neurotypes.
