Genevieve (Gen) is a Clinical Psychologist who, in addition to her private practice, works in the public adult mental health system. She has prior experience working in private hospital, and forensic and community mental health settings, providing individual and group therapy. Gen enjoys working with adults and late adolescents who experience a range of mental health difficulties, including depression and anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)/trauma, personality disorders and/or identity disturbance, low self-esteem, and grief and loss.
Gen has an authentic and gentle approach to understanding her clients, their histories, and current concerns. She uses evidence-based therapeutic interventions and tailors her approach to her clients' therapeutic needs and goals. Gen is an accredited provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) – an evidenced based treatment for PTSD.
She also incorporates CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness in her practice. Having developed a DBT group that she taught and implemented in the community mental health system, Gen is skilled at helping her clients understand and manage their emotions and relationship difficulties.
