I am a Lacanian Psychoanalyst, Accredited Metal Health Social Work and Psychotherapist who hold specialized accreditations in working with Complex Trauma, Acute Stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and a range of mental health presentations. I am committed to providing best practice trauma informed care in a confidential, sensitive and validating therapeutic space, with an emphasis on ‘learning to live with our stories.’ My primary ethical commitment is to provide a safe non-judgmental space for ‘bearing witness,’ for truth telling,’ and in sharing your ‘lived experiences’ via free association. I am also an EMDR Practitioner.
I hold therapeutic space for understanding your experiences and relationships with others, in making meaning of these experiences, in building self-knowledge and awareness, compassion, and self-acceptance. I hold space for my clients to explore ways of being and living, including developing an understanding of their coping mechanisms, and strategies.
Working in this way affirms that from moments of sharing, in giving voice and words to our experiences, in holding space to ‘bear witness’ and for a ‘working through’ to take place, then meaningful processing, shifts and changes are possible in how we experience ourselves and others. This is what ‘learning to live with our stories’ truly represents for me.
