Hello, my name is Cherie. I am a registered psychologist and work with adults and young people (16+) who are seeking to understand themselves better, overcome distress, and form new patterns of relating to themselves and others. I have experience working with people with complex trauma, sexual trauma, relationship difficulties, transition support needs, perinatal and parenting concerns, personality vulnerabilities/disorders, OCD, anger regulation difficulties, and bipolar disorder.
My approach is warm, non-judgemental, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. I draw on a number of approaches depending on your needs and goals including therapies to help with coping skills and stabilisation, and psychodynamic approaches that focus on self-reflection and making sense of current experiences in light of our past to promote change.
I believe that psychotherapy works best in the context of a strong therapeutic relationship. I am therefore committed to providing a safe, non-judgemental, and supportive environment for clients to explore their experiences freely. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to know more about my approach, availability, or would like to work together.
