I am a warm, empathetic psychologist and have a collaborative approach to therapy with a focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where people feel empowered to explore their lives. I have ten years’ experience working with people facing complex difficulties through my work in the justice system and enjoy helping people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their lives. I work with people presenting with a wide range of mental health difficulties, including: trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, family of origin, interpersonal/relationship issues, addiction, neurodiversity and parenting struggles.
I have an integrative approach to therapy, utilising evidence based cognitive and behavioural therapies to emphasise the role of cognition and behaviour in shaping emotional experiences to support the development of adaptive coping strategies.
My clinical approach is client centred, underpinned by the principles of psychodynamic therapy. I believe in the importance of exploring unconscious processes, early life experiences and relational patterns to gain insight into current difficulties.
