Often people seek out a counsellor or psychotherapist as a last resort. They wait until small cracks in their life become big ones that turn into chasms and feel like they’re going to swallow them up. The reason? There is still a stigma in Australia around seeking help when we’re struggling (particularly among men). Here’s the good news: if you’re facing challenges right now, whether they’re tiny or monstrous, there’s actually nothing wrong with you! Life is just pretty complicated these days, social support is often not as strong or frequent as we need, and so we all need a bit of special support and guidance sometimes.
I use a combination of person-centred counselling, mindfulness and body-focused psychotherapies, which I find to be a powerful, yet gentle and flexible combination. A session is a collaborative process between you and me and not something I 'do' to you. I often find myself working with people's emotions, and earlier life experiences underlying those.
I have a deep trust in people’s capacity to overcome difficulties in their life. I see the therapy process as simply the catalyst they need for change, healing and growth to take place. My style of counselling is gentle, authentic and compassionate. One of my strengths is listening deeply to where you're at, and to find what you need to move forward.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is an 8-week skills training course that helps people learn mindfulness and discover how they can apply this to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, irritability, chronic pain and improve wellbeing, resilience and functioning in daily life.
