As a parent of two teenagers and a young, neurodiverse adult, I know how challenging it can be for families at times. Many families are complex and time-poor, and we all need support in a non-judgmental way. While I have my own lived experience of family life, I know that each family system has its distinct strengths and challenges, and comes with its own unique story. It is my sincere desire and responsibility to listen with an open heart and mind and to truly understand the needs of each individual I meet. Therapy needs to be tailored for each person, given the complex systems they operate within.
My many years working with children and parents both in therapeutic and educational settings mean that I value working as part of a team. When I support young people, their primary carers are an important element in moving forward. I am passionate about teaching self-regulation and emotion management skills as they are the cornerstone of relating to others.
