I work as a Counsellor and Educator. I have been working as a Counsellor for 15 years and teaching Diploma of Counselling for 5 years. I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma, particularly domestic family violence and sexual assault. I am passionate about working with clients from historically marginalised groups such as those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and those that identify as LGBTIQ. I have a particular interest in workplace issues including bullying, stress and burnout.
I believe in a holistic approach and draw on various counselling modalities. Some of the counselling modalities I use are: Person Centred Approach, Systemic counselling, Cognitive Behaviour therapy, Psychodynamic and Strength Based Solution Focussed Therapy. I provide both brief and long-term therapeutic interventions that are tailored to the client’s needs.
I bring my knowledge as a Counsellor and Educator to empower my clients and address their needs. It is important to me to provide an ethical, compassionate and trauma-informed service. I am honest, direct and transparent so my clients feel that I have their back.
