Tamara Sobel, J.D., C.S.E., is a media literacy advocate, writer, certified sexuality educator, and former public interest attorney. She is the founder of the Girls Women + Media Project (2000), one of the earliest organizations advocating awareness and activism around images of girls and women in the media. She is the former MA Legislative & Policy Director for Media Literacy Now (MLN) and currently serves as their National Advisor on Health & Media Literacy. She has also co-authored “Body Politics” with Dr. Bryn Austin, where she has co-written on additional current body image and health topics.
