About

Ruth E. Stitt, M.S., M.Div., LPCS, has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 30 years, serving clients in a variety of contexts. She is also a counselor educator and supervisor and has served as an adjunct professor of psychology and human development. The ethics of helping relationships is a special teaching interest, with the aim of promoting high ethical standards for those serving vulnerable populations. Some of the populations she has served outside of regular practice are prison inmates, felons re-entering the community, adolescent girls exploited through sex trafficking, and those in recovery from life-controlling addictions.

After completing a theology degree, Ruth established a blog called Scripture Comes to Life. She publishes weekly about the application of ancient biblical wisdom to contemporary life, culture, human behavior, relationships, and current events. In 2022, she self-published an anthology of her writings, called Scripture Comes to Life: Reflections on Biblical Wisdom in Everyday Experience.

A lifelong guitarist and vocalist, Ruth can often be found performing solo or with her jazz trio, Cats in Hats. She enjoys life in the Texas Hill Country with her husband Rick, three adult children and their families, their two sweet dogs, and many wonderful friends.
