Carolyn MacCann, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Sydney. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Sydney and completed post-doctoral fellowships at ETS (Princeton, NJ, USA) and the Australian Graduate School of Management (Sydney, Australia).

Her research focuses on psychological assessment and test development, particularly on “soft skills” such as emotional intelligence, personality, teamwork, and time management. She studies the mechanisms underpinning emotion regulation, and the processes by which emotional intelligence affects valued outcomes such as job performance, academic achievement, and wellbeing.

She has published over 90 articles, chapter and books and is currently an Associate Editor of Personality Science
