Richard Brown is a research psychologist investigating differences in health behaviors and how to promote healthier living. His work uses a range of psychological theories and methods to better understand the influence of one’s environment on health behaviors. He is a doctoral researcher at Northumbria University (UK) investigating perceptions of risk and socioeconomic inequalities in health. Brown also conducts research into the collection and sharing of patient-generated data and how this might be leveraged to improve future health outcomes.

After studying philosophy at the University of Warwick, Brown worked as a corporate lawyer in the UK. He then worked in Vietnam and Spain before returning to the North East of England to pursue a career in academic health research.
