David D. Luxton Ph.D.

David D. Luxton, PhD., is a nationally recognized expert, consultant, and trainer in innovative technologies in behavioral healthcare. He is an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle and founder of Luxton Labs LLC and the Wayfarer Records recording label. Luxton’s research and writing focus on the development and evaluation of innovative technologies in health care with specializations in artificial intelligence and ethics, telehealth, military and veterans’ health, and forensic psychology. He previously served as a Research Health Scientist and as a Research Psychologist and Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Defense. He has authored numerous scientific and policy-level publications and five books, and he has served on state-level and national workgroups and committees, including for the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He received the American Psychological Association Division 19 (Military Psychology) Arthur W. Melton Award for Early Career Achievement. Luxton is a licensed clinical psychologist and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
