Carlos Alós-Ferrer, Ph.D., received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Alicante (Spain) in 1998. Since 2024, he has been Chair Professor in Economics at Lancaster University Management School. He has previously been a full professor at the Universities of Zurich (2018-2024), Konstanz (Germany; 2005-2012), and Cologne (2012-2018), as well as an associate professor at the Universities of Vienna (Austria) and Salamanca (Spain).

He is interested in helping people make better decisions in business and life. As a researcher and scholar, he works in “psychoeconomics,” defined as the confluence of psychology, economics, and neuroscience to study human decision-making. From 2012 to 2018, he was the speaker of the interdisciplinary Psychoeconomics Research Unit, funded by the German Research Foundation. He is currently the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Economic Psychology.
