Barbara Robles-Ramamurthy, MD, is is a board-certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist, specializing in family and child-serving systems. Her clinical expertise fosters mental health treatment of children, families and child-serving systems with a holistic, family and justice-centered approach.

Robles-Ramamurthy graduated from from Baylor College of Medicine. She then received additional training in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She has additional training in psychoanalytic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and ecological models of family therapy, among other therapeutic modalities. Her academic work has focused on improving systems of care for historically marginalized children and their families. She serves in national committees and work groups through the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and has offered expert consultation to organizations such as the National Alliance of Mental Illness and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion work, both scholarly and administratively, for more than 10 years. She offers consulting services to child and family-serving organizations to foster trauma-informed, family- and justice-centered services that enhance family and community cohesion. As a social entrepreneur, she creates and supports initiatives that enhance wellness and healing in historically marginalized communities.
