Katy Cook, Ph.D., is a social psychologist, consultant, and founder of the Centre for Technology Awareness. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology from University College London, and holds Master’s degrees in Issues in Modern Culture Studies and Counseling Psychology. She is the author of The Psychology of Silicon Valley: Ethical Threats and Emotional Unintelligence in the Tech Industry and “Vulnerability and Authenticity: The Wisdom of Wide Sargasso Sea.”

Dr. Cook serves as a consultant to corporate, government, and nonprofit organizations focused on building emotional intelligence within their executive and management teams. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society of Consulting Psychology, and the Society of Psychologists in Management.

Dr. Cook’s research interests focus on the role emotional intelligence, especially empathy, plays in ethical decision-making, leadership, and corporate and political practices.
